The crop residues left after growing still hold a lot of energy. The system turns them into usable heat that covers the greenhouse heat demand through the year.

The result

What the system delivers here

The greenhouse no longer has to pay a levy to have its crop waste taken away. Instead it goes into the system and delivers the heat that keeps 625 m² of greenhouse at temperature all year round. No gas connection is needed and no heavier grid connection, so the heat supply stands apart from grid congestion and gas prices.

What is left over is compost that can be used on site. High-grade compost can make plants more resistant to disease and pests. A growing trial with it is running at the HortiScience Innovation Center.
